Why Cheap Student Flights Are Worth Providing?

There is a popular English phrase – ‘Catch Them Young’. The meaning of this phrase is that if you make the youth your customers, which is early on in their life, then you can expect to retain them for the longest period of time. Airlines have also embraced this phrase. Youth are one of their target markets. The airline do make all possible efforts to encourage students to travel by flying instead of using the road transportation.

The airlines provide discounts on fares for students. They just have to show their valid IDs as proofs that they are currently the students. Discounts on fares enable them to fly cheap and be within their budget. Sometimes, airlines also provide additional baggage allowances to them. These are the two most common offers which the airline make to the students. However, there could be many other flight deals that could also be offered to them.

Now, why are cheap student flights and special allowances offered? The reason is that students have more energy and willingness to travel. More importantly, they have the time. The only constraint which they might have is that of limited sum of money and constrained budgets to spend on travel. Despite this limitation, they are still an attractive market for the airline because of the potential these hold for the future. The nice memories of flying with a particular airline are etched on the minds and these airlines become the preferred choice for future, as and when the students grow up and begin to earn.

If the airlines do have to retain the students as future customers, it shall be able to match their expectations of after-student life. This requires innovation in product and service offerings that matches the changes that happen as per their life cycle.

Why Buying Tickets Online Might Not Suffice?

Flight ticketing is perhaps the first sector which made good use of the ecommerce web-based technologies so as to enable online sale of tickets. Another major impact which the online medium had was for the airlines themselves.

Since web-based search and booking engines of airlines could now become all pervasive and prominently visible to their target market, the role and leverage of agencies also got reduced as the passengers could directly visit the website of the airline.

Earlier, the airline contact centers were limited which make agencies quite powerful but introduction of ecommerce in ticketing enabled ticket booking without having the limitation of limited contact centers.

It is a fact that buying tickets online increased the scope of booking considerably for the airlines. However, while the ease of reservations was a great boon, it was not necessarily the best which could offer the cheapest air tickets.

If the objective of prospective passengers is to get cheap air tickets, then online search may not be sufficient. Why? This is because the flight options which are shown online might not be all the options. Therefore, there are better deals available with the flight agents on call which can significantly impact the price of tickets.

These fares are called unpublished fares and these are a reality in the airline industry. These fares are available with agents and can be offered on call.
Therefore, it clearly means that just online medium is not good enough for getting lowest airfares.

San Juan- A Tourist Gateway to Puerto Rico

Caribbean regions has always held attraction for tourists. Comprising of many large and small islands, off the coasts of USA and Latin American countries, this region has been uniquely gifted in natural elements.

While beaches and forests have been naturally blessed the region in abundance, it is the rich colonial history, carefree and joyous lifestyle, rich culture, adulation for sports, architecture of colonial times and other elements that together make this region a must-visit region. One of the countries of this region is Puerto Rico

This country is just east of Dominican Republic. And, within Puerto Rico, there is its capital city, San Juan, which is rightly called a tourist gateway into the country.

San Juan can be reached from many cities in USA and Canada. However, the non-stop flights are limited from the cities of New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Atlanta and Chicago. Among these, the largest number of direct flights are from Orlando (19), followed by New York (12), Atlanta (5), Philadelphia (4) and Chicago (3).

From Orlando, which is not a hub for any major airline, the non-stop flights are operated essentially by jetblue and Spirit airlines. From New York, the JFK airport is hub for American, Delta and jetblue airlines but it is only the Delta and jetBlue airlines which provide direct flights.

United Airlines flies non-stop flights from the Newark airport. Atlanta is a hub for Delta Airlines and, from there direct air tickets to San Juan can be booked on Delta as it provides most of the daily flights. Frontier is another carrier on which the passengers can fly to San juan from Atlanta.

Philadelphia is a hub for American Airlines and it provides 2 daily non-stop flights to San Juan from here. Two other daily flights are from Spirit and Frontier airlines, one each. Chicago is the hub for American and United Airlines, among the major carriers. But, both these airlines have one daily flight each from O’Hare airport to San Juan airport.

These flights enable tourists to visit this seaport city located on the northern part of island in shortest possible time period.

Flights to Santiago For Exploring Its Nearby Wine Regions

Chile is known for its wines. The country has agro-climatic conditions suitable for viticulture in some of its regions. Some of these wine regions can be explored when you are visiting Santiago, the capital city. Whenever you are planning to visit this country, Santiago is the most obvious choice for taking a flight. Cheap flight tickets to Santiago can not only take you to its architectural, historical and cultural escapades but also to its wine regions. If you are short on time and cannot visit the ones which are far off from Santiago, you can certainly take out some time to visit the ones which are near to this city.

  1. Maipo Valley: This is the closest to the city. The vines are spread out to about 7000 acres of land area. The region is known for growing cabernet sauvignon grapes but the extension of this regions towards the pacific coast also produces the Sauvignon Blanc wines.
  2. Casablanca Valley: It lies to the west of Santiago and this is known for Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay wines which are white wine types.
  3. San Antonio Valley: This is one of the newest wine regions of Chile. It lies to the south of Casablanca Valley and is more towards to the Pacific shore. This region is also known for producing the white wine grapes, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Red wine grapes Pinot Noir and Syrah are also grown here.
  4. Aconcagua Valley: This is a wine region which was not expected to be a wine region in the first place because of its relatively hot climatic and arid landscape. However, it was the foresight of Don Maximiano Errazuriz which has made it into a good wine region. Now, red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot are produced here.
  5. Cachapoal Valley: This is a wine region to the south of Santiago, the capital city of Chile. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Merlot and Syrah are the four grape varieties which are grown here prominently.
  6. Colchagua Valley: This is another wine region which is known for Mediterranean climate and Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Syrah are the major wine grapes grown here.
