Transatlantic Flights to Europe From USA

Ever since the dawn of modern aviation, the economic progress of the countries has accelerated. Opening up flights is one of the best ways of accelerating regional and national development. With the movement of people and products, it becomes possible to diversify economic activities and to make the fruits of development reach people easily. Aviation has played a big role in economic development of USA and Canada on one hand and Europe on the other.

This has also led to the globalization movement at a pace never seen before. The transatlantic flights between USA and Europe has had multi-dimensional advantages. Some of the key European countries which have shared a large part of the aviation traffic with USA are United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Amsterdam.

Flights to Europe are operated by American carriers under codeshare or interline agreements with the European carriers. One or the other American airline companies has tied up with the European airline companies to fly passengers from USA to Europe and vice versa. This way the airline companies of both the regions gain profits.

Another important fact to note with respect to the transatlantic flights is that most of the US cities which connect with European cities lies on the eastern and central part of USA. Only some important cities on the western side of USA connect to the European cities. There are direct flights which can fly within the shortest time possible enabling quickest connectivity.

Then there are connecting flights with one or more stopovers of varying time durations. The connections are most common because these allow the airline companies to showcase their own countries or cities to the passengers. This is one of the ways to showcase your cities and country to the outside world, which leads to increase of tourism.

An interesting feature is that all types of carriers are involved in this cross-atlantic flight routes. Be it the budget carriers such as Southwest in USA and Ryanair in Europe, or the legacy carriers such as Delta, United and American Airlines in USA and British Airways, Air France or Lufthansa in Europe, all are directly or indirectly involved in enabling movement of people.

This has given both the cheap flight ticket option for economy class travelers as well as the most luxurious travel experience for the First Class flyers.

Transatlantic flights are also flown by the carriers of Arab world, chiefly the big three-Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways. From their hubs in respective countries these facilitate movement of people from South and Far East Asia to USA without touching down in European cities.

This has been made possible with the advent of planes capable of taking up direct long haul flights. This has also led to reduction of influence of European carriers for carrying Asian people to the USA or Canada.
