Do Airline Services Decide Which Cheap Flight You Will Take?

When there is a need to book a flight, the search for lowest possible airfares could be the primary consideration for most of you. The airline which offers the cheapest fares stands high chances of selling tickets. However, this might not be true for a number of passengers who have their own criteria for choosing the airline. What could these reasons be for selecting an airline, if not the price of tickets? Well, these would relate to the services which airlines have to offer. So, the next question is which of these services are most important from passenger perspective. Let us have an idea of these-
  1. Baggage Allowances- If there is an airline which is offering free or more check-in baggage allowance, then this could be the preferred carrier.
  2. Meals- The meals also mean a lot to passengers. What types of meals are offered in airline and whether these are complimentary or chargeable also matters for many passengers. If an airline offers wine or liquor, then alcohol lovers would prefer to fly in that airline.
  3. Entertainment- If an airline is offering different entertainment avenues which could be to your liking or to that of the other passengers travelling with you (such as kids or the elderly), then these could prove to be deal breaker. So, it is not just the cheap airline tickets but the different ways in which you can entertain yourself which would matter while buying flight tickets.
  4. Ease of earning and redeeming reward points- Some passengers would even check how it is to accumulate and redeem the points with a particular airline. An easy to understand and rewarding frequent flyer program could entice people to fly on one airline than the other. Therefore, airlines that have a more far-reaching and elaborate program that provides more avenues for earning and redeeming points will be preferred for booking tickets.
  5. Crew Behavior- How does the cabin crew interact with you? Is it courteous, polite and able to take reasonably good care of you? If yes, then this is an additional element that will make people buy tickets on the airline. For this reason, careful selection and proper training of cabin crew holds importance.
  6. Safety record- Airplanes have to be totally safe for passengers to fly. These must be checked and certified as safe by reputed national and global companies. Passengers do keep track of news of airplanes relating to their airworthiness, maintenance and financial condition. So, even if cheap tickets are offered by an airline which has dubious record of safety, passengers will not buy ticket from it.
